About the role

Are you ready to shape the skyline and redefine what’s possible in building engineering? We’re on the hunt for a visionary Business Leader to take the reins of our Adelaide Buildings team, a dynamic group of Engineers and Consultants who thrive on solving complex challenges across health, defence, data centres, science & technology, social infrastructure, and commercial sectors.

Day to day tasks would involve: 

  • Develop and implement business strategy and revenue growth plans for the Adelaide business to achieve organisational goals and agreed outcomes.

  • Lead project delivery and team performance, ensuring excellence in resourcing, utilisation, and margin management.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for winning work, growing the Adelaide Buildings team and achieving net revenue and backlog targets, with support from leaders and staff.

  • Foster collaboration across Business Centres with a focus on cross-selling nationally to consistently win new work with clients.

  • Champion a high-performance culture focused on talent, productivity, and financial performance.

  • Drive quality and timely delivery of projects that exceed client expectations.

  • Assist with business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships.

  • Represent Stantec in industry forums, client presentations, and strategic meetings to enhance our market presence.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary Engineering qualification 

  • 12+ years of senior-level experience in building services in the Adelaide market.

  • Proven leadership skills and a track record of building high-performing teams.

  • Strong commercial acumen and significant project delivery experience.

  • Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record of client engagement, relationship building and project leadership.
