- Ability to travel and work non-standard work weeks/days and/or long shifts.
- Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Physically demanding work often in remote field settings where proximity to services, including medical services, may be challenging.
- Dedication to successful project execution and technical excellence.
- Able to apply logic and technical capabilities to resolve issues in an effective manner.
- Working understanding of technical writing skills and digital data collection (GPS/FieldMaps)
- Working understanding of policies and procedures for Health, Safety, Security and Environment, including client-specific training (as required), and applying these policies and procedures as appropriate to your work.
- Able to build and maintain productive professional and personal networking relationships within their technical team.
- The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set and a proactive approach to solving challenges and contributing to team success.
Education and Experience
- Candidates currently enrolled in a M.A. in Archaeology program.
- Successful completion of a field school and technical courses (e.g. lithic analysis, faunal analysis) is considered an asset.
- Archaeological field experience in Alberta/Western Canada is preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is strongly preferred.
