- Strong grasp of Section 106 steps
- Familiarity with NEPA, NHPA, CEQA, and general plans as they pertain to architectural history and cultural resources management
- Strong technical writing and editing skills
- Team leadership skills
- Experience developing or reviewing sections of EIR/EIS documents
- Experience developing MOA, PA, treatment and management plans, and mitigation
- Experience developing budgets and project scoping
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to maintain positive client relationships
- A desire and willingness to work on a collaborative and productive team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to difficult, often stressful situations
- Experience as a decision-maker and leading a team
Education and Experience
- An advanced degree (M.A., M.S., MHC) in public history, heritage conservation, architectural history, historic preservation, or a related field that meets the Secretary of Interior Professional Qualification Standards for Architectural History and History
- At least 10 years of experience as a senior-level architectural historian/built environment specialist working in the cultural resources management industry or a closely related field
- In-depth regulatory experience (Section 106) with NEPA and CEQA experience is a plus
