Architectural Technologist

- Lead one or more teams as Job Captain on medium to large size projects through the development of design concept as it relates to building technology and systems.
- Lead the Construction Administration phase of projects

- Inspire confidence and garner trust and respect with the project team and clients.
- Provide a balanced approach and good judgement.
- Check work of others for technical accuracy and completeness and manage team to meet project budget and schedule.
- Scale process, design and effort to various roles on the project, the needs of the project, and other conditions.
- Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material. Strong presentation and interview skills.
- Thorough understanding of historical values and context.
- Exhibit maturity and cultural awareness internally and externally.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
- Requires solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, Newforma, Sefaira, and other modeling software.
- Experience with construction industry software platforms such as Procore is an asset.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree or technical school in Building or Architectural Technology or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience. Registration (or eligibility to be registered) with the AIBC is preferred.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
