Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask leadership, project management and business development
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication and negotiation skills and people management ability with clients, project teams and staff
  • Knowledge of commercial and contractual issues
  • Experience managing and motivating integrated, multi-discipline design teams in multiple locations for delivery of small, simple and large, complex industrial projects, including conventional and alternate project delivery methods, and conventional and alternative construction procurement methods
  • Understanding of effective management of scope, schedule and quality of projects
  • Experience using digital project management and collaboration tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and support of corporate mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and a code of ethical behavior

 

Education and Experience

  • First professional degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Registration or ability to register as an Architect or Engineer in British Columbia 
  • 10 or more years’ experience in designing or delivering building projects, preferably including industrial buildings.
  • Experience managing at least one building project with minimum consulting fees of $1M and five building projects with minimum consulting fees of $250K.
  • Ability to qualify for Secret Clearance with Department of National Defence.
  • Ability to work in a typical office environment with computers, remaining sedentary for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to travel out of town for multiple days and possess a valid driver’s license. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
