Your Opportunity
Stantec has an immediate need for a talented entry-level, team focused Bridge Engineer. This position is for an individual who is looking to challenge themselves professionally on a variety of transportation projects. You will have the opportunity to learn, work on exciting and multi-faceted projects, and grow your career. This position is located in either the Charleston, WV, or Bridgeport, WV office. We are looking for a Structural Bridge Engineer who excels in working in a team environment and has a passion for the work that they do. The successful candidate will join a growing team of transportation professionals and contribute to the design component of roadway and bridge projects throughout West Virginia.
Your Key Responsibilities
- The majority of work will include bridge projects for departments of transportation and municipalities in West Virginia and surrounding states
- Key duties include assisting with the preparation of plans, specifications, and design calculations for DOT and Municipal clients
- Tasks would include but not be limited to performing site visits, bridge analysis, design and geometry calculations, and developing drawings
- The position also entails preparing engineering reports and technical studies, and assisting on other projects, as needed, including participation in roadway and site civil design activities
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience with WVDOH preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
- Prior consulting experience and established client and agency contacts are desirable
- Strong client interaction and relationship skills with the ability to communicate well
- Bridge load rating experience preferred
- A working knowledge of MicroStation is preferred
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Bridge engineering & design experience is desired
