About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager (Engineering) to take charge of lead generation and revenue growth efforts across the mining and metals sectors, including iron ore, gold, copper, nickel, and more. Based in Perth, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our business and solidifying our presence in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive sustainable growth across diverse commodities.
- Proactive Lead Generation: Identify, pursue, and cultivate new business leads while expanding the company's client base.
- Strategic Business Development: Coordinate opportunities, project delivery, and innovative solutions that align with client objectives and company goals.
- Market Analysis: Research industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs to identify revenue-generating opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic partnerships through consistent engagement, site visits, and tailored presentations.
- Winning Proposals: Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to develop persuasive bids, proposals, and presentations that secure client trust and business.
- Pipeline Management: Oversee the CRM system, ensuring accurate documentation of leads, opportunities, and strategic insights for consistent growth.
- Performance Tracking: Establish metrics to monitor business development activities and ensure targets are met.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Partner with operations, marketing, and technical teams to align strategies and optimize revenue-generation efforts.

To be successful for this role you'll need
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- 10+ years’ experience in mining operations, with expertise in Iron Ore, gold, copper, nickel, or other metals.
- Proven track record in lead generation, client acquisition, and achieving revenue growth targets in the mining industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mining material handling systems, NPI environments, and industry-specific challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and foster relationships that drive business success.
- High-level autonomy, time management, and organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and systems, with experience in managing and analyzing sales pipelines.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory framework and environmental standards governing mining and metals industries.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities, including mentoring and guiding teams toward achieving shared goals.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and present impactful proposals and marketing collateral tailored to client needs.
