CAD Drafter

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Understands of 2D/3D model design environment and knowledge of CAD standards.
  
• Basic knowledge of software programs with Autodesk and Bentley platforms including but not limited to AutoCAD, CADWorx, Microstation. Knowledge of PDMS desired.
  
• Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  
• Working experience in upstream oil and gas industry.
  
• Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
  
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
  
• Good organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  
• Must have good driving record and valid Driver's License.
  
• Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug screen.
  

Experience drafting and basic knowledge of the following:

• Understands and draws pipe (single & double line)
  
• Reads and draws Isometrics
  
• Understands and draws screwed and socket weld piping
  
• Understands and can use coordinate systems
  
• Understands and draws elevations and fitting dimension charts
  
• Understands and draws valve types
  
• Understands importance of and can draw and read Piping and Instrumentation Diagram
  
• Complete understanding of layering standards
  
• Understands and uses labeling, dimensioning, and callout standards
  
• Creates section cuts/drawings from designer’s input
  
• Understands inter-relationship of drawings
  
• Understands make-up of typical drawing package
  
• Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, basic trig.)
  
• Can demonstrate proper CAD technique
  

Education and Experience

Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 years of experience.

Typical office environment working with computers at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
