Stantec's Nashville, TN officeindustrial water team has an opportunity for a Chemical Engineering InternChemical Designer to join their Water practice. Stantec’s Industrial Water team is a dynamic team of experts working across a wide range of industries including power, semiconductors, manufacturing, and food & beverage.
The successful candidate will:
- Assist the local member of a high performing project delivery team. with report and documentation preparation, project administration, and research assistance
- Develop spreadsheet process calculations to support team
- Develop process engineering documents including flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), hydraulic calculations, engineering lists, process data sheets, and performance specifications.
- Write documents and reports summarizing work performed, interpreting analytical results and observations, and providing engineering recommendations under the responsible charge of a fully licensed Professional Engineer.
- Meet scope, schedule, and budgets schedule requirements.
- Perform site inspections, construction observations, start up and commissioning support, and field observation report preparation.
Provide supporting documentation to:
- Assist with project permit applications preparations and processing
- Attend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
The ideal candidate:
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in chemical engineering
- Must have a working knowledge of ChemCAD, AspenTech or other process modeling software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
- Highly motivated individual
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Must have valid drivers’ license .and the ability to obtain Engineer-in-Training certification.
Education and Experience
- Must be currently enrolled ina graduate from an ABET accredited bachelor’s or master’s Engineering Program.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. with periodic project travel to client facilities.
