Stantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. The opportunity
Stantec’s Water team in New Zealand has an impressive portfolio of successful projects that benefit communities nationwide and beyond, with significant contributions to international work. Dams and hydropower are a key focus, driving resilience and renewable energy solutions. Tackling our water challenges is crucial, and our diverse local network includes over 360 water specialists dedicated to innovation.
We have a great opportunity for a Civil 3D Designer to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across New Zealand and the wider Asia Pacific region.

Develop and maintain Civil 3D models and drawings for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure
Create and manage alignments, surfaces, pipe networks, profiles, corridors, and quantities
Produce detailed design and construction documentation in accordance with project and client requirements
Manage data shortcuts and model referencing within Civil 3D environments
Support delivery of pressure and gravity pipeline networks, pump stations, and site civil works
Assist engineers with design development from concept through to detailed design and IFC
Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes and design interfaces
To be successful in this role you will need:
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent practical experience
3–6 years’ experience as a Civil Designer or Civil 3D Technician/Designer
Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D
Experience delivering water, wastewater, or utilities projects
Ability to work independently on design tasks with guidance from senior staff
Strong attention to detail and documentation quality
Exposure to BIM delivery on infrastructure projects (ideal but not essential)
