About the role

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer ready for the next step in your career? With a strong pipeline of project work, we’re looking for a motivated engineer to join our New South Wales Buildings Team in Sydney.

You’ll be part of a well-established and growing team of social and professional engineers, delivering impactful projects across sectors such as health, education, sports and leisure, defence, retail, and commercial buildings.

Day to day tasks would involve: 

·       Perform civil engineering design for building projects across various sectors, including preparing drawings, calculations, reports, and design criteria using CAD and civil design software.

·       Prepare and review engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards throughout all phases.

·       Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions and attend coordination meetings.

·       Assist with proposals, cost estimates, and project documentation, while supporting scope, budget, and scheduling discussions.

·       Support construction phase activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and preparing site observation reports

·       Deliver work aligned with professional standards, Stantec’s quality procedures, and contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement.

To be successful for this role you'll need: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Ideally have 4–6 years of experience in civil design for building projects within an engineering consultancy environment.  Projects within the Education, Health and Defence sectors would be advantageous however not compulsory 

  • Strong knowledge of site development, stormwater management, and civil systems integration for buildings.

  • Proficiency in civil design software and CAD tools.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
