- Sound understanding of conveyance design principles, including planning, design, and construction, such as:
- Sewer collection design including experience with diurnal patterns, open channel hydraulics, bypass sewer design, manhole design and rehabilitation, flow diversion, and flow metering
- Water distribution and transmission main design with rigid and non-rigid pipe materials including welded steel pipe, ductile iron pipe, PVC, HDPE, and concrete pressure pipe and cylinder pipe.
- Pipeline rehabilitation methodologies including CIPP, pipe bursting, and pipelining
- Familiarity and design experience with trenchless construction methodologies such as HDD, microtunneling, auger boring.
- Sewer collection design including experience with diurnal patterns, open channel hydraulics, bypass sewer design, manhole design and rehabilitation, flow diversion, and flow metering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Experience with various project delivery methods and construction methodologies, especially trenchless applications, is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Experienced with the use of hydrologic and hydraulic network modeling and design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, InfoWORKS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, in accordance with expertise.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree desirable.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Arizona, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater conveyance design projects.
