Your Opportunity
We currently have an opening for a Civil Engineering Co-op Student in our Whitehorse, YT office starting in September 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting data collection and analysis, surveying, field reviews during construction, and design / drafting assistance in our Civil Engineering group, along with some support work with our multi-disciplinary projects. The successful candidate will receive a very broad range of experiences by supporting more than one team.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Fulfilling health and safety requirements
- Providing logistical support for reporting and field work
- Data entry/administration
- Field work to observe construction
- Design and drafting for water, wastewater and transportation infrastructure projects
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Eager to learn with a desire to take initiative
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects and adjust to changing demands
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a team environment
- A love of the outdoors, wilderness and travel experience
- Flexibility to travel and work beyond regular business hours
- Strong MS Office Suite skills
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is required
- First Aid training is an asset but is not required
Education and Experience
- The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited university degree program in Civil or Environmental Engineering and be available to work starting in September 2025 for at least a 4-month work term.
Typical office environment working with computers. Field work included may be long days (up to 12-hours), in challenging remote locations, last minute schedule changes, and exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
