We are looking for a talented as needed Commercial Diver who wants to be part of a purpose-driven organization that’s focused on helping our clients, colleagues and communities thrive. Our team members are involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, water resources management, infrastructure assessment, water quality assessment, scientific diving, and commercial diving. We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in natural sciences to join our team and advance their career.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct freshwater mussel surveys
  • Conduct bathymetric surveys
  • Lead the Stantec scientific dive team
  • Act as a member of the Stantec commercial dive team
  • Supervise Surface Supplied Air and SCUBA diving operations onsite
  • Assist with maintenance and repairs of diving equipment
  • Assist with maintenance and repairs of boats, trucks, and other field equipment
  • Prepare and enforce dive plans, job hazard analysis, and emergency management plans for projects
  • Conduct sediment sampling
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments
  • Ability to inspect, maintain and boats, trucks and other field equipment, ability to repair a plus
  • Ability to record and track dive and maintenance logs
  • Data analysis and report writing

  • Strong communication skills necessary to interact with management and clients

Education and Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma required
  • Experience: ADCI Air Diver certification with a minimum of 2-year of experience and/or AAUS scientific diver certification. Prior mussel survey experience and advanced boat operation skills preferred
  • Licensure: State Issued Driver’s License required and DOT Driver certification preferred
  • Current Physical, First-Aid, Oxygen, CPR certification or the ability to obtain.

Flexible schedule and willingness to travel for prolonged periods for field assignments; Position will primarily work on job sites. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
