Your Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Manager will coordinate and implement corporate and project specific quality management standards to maintain excellence in Stantec’s deliverables. The Quality Assurance Manager will confirm that the project is in compliance with Stantec and appropriate client standards and meets all legal requirements.

This position is critical in implementing effective quality management so that the design and construction of the project are delivered to the highest standards of quality and meets the requirements and expectations of the client. This position is project specific and also interacts throughout the organization internally.


Your Key Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise project specific Quality Assurance.

• Understand, promote and implement quality standards.

• Prepare, obtain approval, issue and implement a project specific Quality Management Plan (QMP) in compliance with company requirements.

• As required by the QMP, perform activities such as confirming quality control compliance, notification to management of quality problems, etc.

• Provide administrative and technical direction to all quality assurance and control personnel; includes personnel administration, resolution of technical problems, development/approval of in-house training, etc.

• Ensure company standards as outlined in the QMP are effectively implemented.

• Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance.

• Report to and work closely with the Project Manager to confirm that the project is being delivered in conformance with Stantec requirements.

• Develop, manage and continually improve the QMP.

• Establish, track and report on trends for key quality metrics including customer satisfaction.


Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Progressive responsibility and ability to demonstrate clear understanding of quality management principles.

• Experience in the development and execution of quality management systems.

• Experience in auditing the application of quality management systems.

• Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills required.

• Certification by leading organizations within the quality management industry is desirable.

• Experience in reviewing projects and providing training to new or existing staff is required.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, construction management or related field.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience working with heavy civil engineering / Infrastructure projects and 3 years of experience in a quality management role.

 

Working Conditions

Position will work in both a field and office setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Must be available to travel for out of town projects when needed.
