Consulting Arborist
We are seeking a motivated Consulting Arborist (AQF5+ qualified) to join our Environmental Services team in Melbourne. This opportunity is suited to arborists at the early stages of their consulting career through to more experienced practitioners looking to further develop their technical expertise across a diverse project portfolio. We're interested in hearing from consulting arborists who are passionate about trees, urban environments, and delivering practical solutions for clients and communities.
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of environmental professionals, you will contribute to the delivery of arboricultural assessments and advice for infrastructure, transport, land development, environmental planning, and urban greening projects. You will be supported by experienced specialists and have access to ongoing mentoring, professional development, and clear career progression pathways within a respected global consultancy.
Day-to-day tasks would involve:
- Undertake a range of arboricultural assessments, including Preliminary Arboricultural Assessments, Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Tree Protection Plans, and Hazardous Tree Assessments.
- Prepare clear and concise arboricultural reports and recommendations.
- Support planning approvals and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and local government requirements.
- Assist with project planning, proposal preparation, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Provide arboricultural advice to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to biodiversity and environmental assessment projects where required.
- Collaborate with ecologists, environmental planners, engineers, and other technical specialists on multidisciplinary projects.
To be successful for the role, you’ll need:
- A qualification in Arboriculture at AQF Level 5 or above (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, or equivalent).
- Sound tree identification and tree assessment skills.
- Experience undertaking arboricultural inspections and reporting, or a strong desire to develop these skills within a consulting environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence.
