Role description:

Support the construction management team based in Hastings by undertaking site monitoring and  investigations, design input, report writing, and quality assurance (MSQA) activities for a variety of projects.

This opportunity offers you the chance to work on rewarding projects and use your technical know-how to ensure compliance with NZS 3910 and HSSE standards, engineering, procurement and project management to deliver excellent service to our key and emerging clients in New Zealand.

About the role:

  • Undertake contract management duties (MSQA) to support senior contract managers.

  • Preparation of project reports, site meeting records, site visits and inspection records, HSE observations and quality compliance reports as needed

  • Support audits and inspections for quality and HSSE compliance.

  • Maintain records of NCRs and assist in corrective actions.

  • Monitor contractor documentation for compliance with NZS 3910 and other NZ standards.

  • Assist in site safety checks and reporting

  • Ensure meetings are managed and documented with actions assigned.

  • Assist with writing requests for physical works tenders and other procurement documents.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent project performance.

  • Ensure project delivery on agreed outputs for budget, on time and to quality standards.

  • Assist in preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction projects including risk assessments to support contingency    allowances.

About you:

  • Relevant technical qualification e.g. BEng. NZCE, BEngTech, Dip Eng.
  • 3 - 7 years’ relevant professional experience in civil engineering and/or construction monitoring -  ( with our upcoming workload, we also encourage people with a wider range or additional years of experience to apply)
  • Strong investigation, analytical and report writing skills.
  • Able to build trust and provide support to peers and clients.
  • Ideally experience in both the public and private sectors.
  • Have a strong interest in professional development and building a challenging career in transport engineering.
