Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Knowledge and application of National Electrical Code (NEC), International Society of Automation (ISA) and other applicable industry codes and standards as they apply to control system specification and design.
• General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
• General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems
• Field experience is preferred.
• Detailed understanding of various equipment used in oil & gas such as vessels, tanks, heat exchangers & coolers, heaters, rotating equipment (pumps and compressors), packaged equipment, valves & specialty items.
• Strong knowledge of control systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
• Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
• Thorough understanding of control systems engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others. Advanced oral and written communication skills, and a proven ability to write clear, thorough technical reports.
• Presentation skills are a plus.
• Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Requires proficiency with manufacturer software for sizing Control Valves, Safety Valves and Flow meters.
• Requires good knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD viewer tools, ETAP Visual, Dialux, Bluebeam Vu, Naviswork, Google Earth.
• Must have good driving record and valid Driver's License.
• Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug screen.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics or System Engineering. Minimum of 4-8 years of experience. 

Field and typical office environment, working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
