About the role:
Stantec’s Water team in New Zealand has an impressive portfolio of successful projects that benefit communities nationwide and beyond, with significant contributions to international work. Our water focus covers the management of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater as a collective resource. Dams and hydropower are a key focus, driving resilience and renewable energy solutions. Tackling our water challenges is crucial, and our diverse local network includes over 360 water specialists dedicated to innovation.
We are seeking a Data and Automation Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will support water services projects by applying data analysis and automation techniques to improve project outcomes and contribute to company objectives. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will develop technical solutions, support project delivery, and ensure outputs align with client and Stantec expectations. This is an opportunity to apply and grow your technical skills while contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and expertise in automation, analytics, and data engineering to meet project requirements.
Contribute to the capability and knowledge sharing of the Data and Automation team within the NZ Digital Practice.
Build collaborative relationships and support a culture of knowledge sharing across the Digital Practice and relevant streams.
Support client engagement activities, contribute to identifying opportunities, and assist with business development initiatives aligned with Stantec business strategies.
Deliver robust data analytics and automated solutions on time and within project requirements and budgets.
Promote and apply automation solutions within Stantec NZ and APAC for internal and external clients.
Contribute technical input to project delivery across internal and external client projects.
Support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of digital products.
What we are looking for:
Relevant tertiary qualification desirable (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science)
Technical expertise in data analytics, automation, and data engineering.
Experience with data and automation technologies and methodologies e.g. SQL, Python, R, Power Platform, Power BI, Tableau, FME
Experience with geospatial data desirable
