Digital Practice Lead, ANZ

Australia or New Zealand

Stantec brings together over 34,000 consultants across 450+ locations worldwide, including more than 30 offices and 2,700+ employees across Australia & New Zealand.

You're the kind of person who gets energy from building things with people - not just tools and systems, but capability, confidence, and community. You're as comfortable talking strategy with a business leader as you are helping a practitioner find the right digital solution for their project. And you know that the best technology adoption doesn't happen through mandates - it happens through trust.

About the role

You'll shape how digital capability is built, shared, and applied across Australia and New Zealand - leading our Copilot and AI adoption, championing a culture of continuous improvement, and acting as the key connector between our digital practitioners and the business. This is as much about people as it is about technology.

This is a role at the heart of how Stantec ANZ works. As Digital Practice Lead, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across our ANZ digital community - working with three Regional Discipline Leads (Development and Automation, Geospatial/GIS, and Digital Engineering/Design Technology) and our Regional Software Manager, and connecting into the broader global Stantec digital network.

What you'll do

Lead and develop your team - coach and enable your four direct reports to deliver a cohesive, consistent digital strategy across all ANZ sectors, with clear direction and the conditions to thrive.

Be the connector - help project teams, BD staff, and market leads find the right digital people, tools, and solutions at the right time, across Australia and New Zealand and into the wider Stantec network.

Lead AI adoption - champion the ANZ Copilot rollout and broader AI enablement, building real digital fluency and confidence across our practitioner community, not just awareness.

Manage our technology environment - own the ANZ regional software portfolio and Azure environment, keeping our technology landscape current, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Drive initiatives that matter - champion digital initiatives that deliver measurable improvements to how ANZ teams work, and identify commercially valuable digital assets that can generate non-labour revenue.

What we're looking for

You'll bring 7+ years of leadership experience in digital, technology, or practice management within the AEC or professional services industry. But beyond the credentials, we're looking for someone who:

  • Builds effective relationships across organisational boundaries—including IT, market leads, discipline specialists, and practitioners—and leverages those connections to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Guides people through change with enthusiasm, pragmatism, and hands-on support, favouring collaborative approaches over top-down directives.
  • Translates complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for audiences without technical backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates a strong grasp of contemporary digital technologies such as cloud platforms, AI tools, GIS, automation, and digital engineering, and understands their application in consulting environments.
  • Possesses practical experience in managing software portfolios or overseeing digital governance at a regional or enterprise level.
  • Connects well with colleagues and shows genuine interest in supporting their professional growth and development.

What we offer:

At Stantec, we take your growth and fulfilment seriously. We’re proud to offer many supportive benefits, including:

Professional development and support

  • Flexible working arrangements, including purchasing up to an extra four weeks of leave and provision for school term contracts, part-time, and job sharing
  • Learning and talent development programmes, including global, online, and on-the-job opportunities
  • Professional memberships
  • Service recognition awards
  • Mentorship

Wellbeing and connection opportunities

  • Health insurance, income continuance insurance, and life insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Developing Professionals Group, a global network for those with under 10 years of experience
  • Office Social Club and events
