Your Capabilities and Credentials
-
Working knowledge of soil description and sampling
- Identifying and engaging with key stakeholders to gather information and background
- Identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions and seek to improve safety with reference to known policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of programs
- Able to fly in and fly out of an oilsand mine in northern Alberta: 2 weeks on and 1 week on. Camp lodging at the oilsand mine
- Full-time temporary November 2018 - March 2019
Education and Qualifications

Post-Secondary Technical Diploma or Degree in geological, civil, or mining disciplines.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience including mine driving experience
- Has experience with Auger/Sonic/Mud Rotary/Dual Rotary drilling rigs
- Has experience with northern Alberta glacial geology and Athabasca Oil Sands Geology having worked in the oil sands region or in glacial soils previously
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with current Driver’s Abstract
- Professional designation with either the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) or the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) is considered an asset.
