Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of field experience (preferred) delineating wetlands according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Manual and the appropriate Regional Supplements
  • Must have a professional and academic background in ecology, environmental science, wetlands, botany, soil science, or other related field Knowledge of flora and fauna
  • Knowledge of taxonomy Strong orienteering skills Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Experience with GPS data collection technology a plus
  • Some travel, including overnight travel, is expected for this position Skill in technical writing as well as environmental research and analysis
  • Able to communicate effectively and function as part of a team Interest in ecosystems, natural resource conservation, and the outdoors is essential
  • Ability to solve problems using critical thinking and practical problem solving
  • Ability to complete field work with consideration to their own and the team's safety
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, or related field. Demonstrated ability with plant, soil, and wetland identification and characterization in the region. Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience; or an equivalent combination of education (e.g. advanced degree) and experience. Co-op / Internship experience preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
