Your Capabilities and Credentials

·                        Thorough understanding of electrical work and the equipment/instrumentation used in water or wastewater facilities.

·                        Basic knowledge of electrical code (this position does not require electrical code special inspection)

·                        Thorough understanding of construction safety, quality control and general construction contracts

                        Ability to use and interpret contract documents, drawings, schedule, and quality control plans relating to complex construction projects, specifically P&ID drawings, single-line diagrams, and conduit schedules

                        Strong communications skills used for reporting and other communications

                        Strong focus and skills for construction safety.

                        Must be physically able to climb extensively up and down ladders and to enter awkward and confined spaces on a regular basis.

                        Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

·                        Ability to effectively discuss project issues with contractor, project team and clients, including ability to resolve conflict situations.

·                        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

·         Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience.

·         Minimum of 8-10 years of experience.

The Construction Inspector will report to a Program Construction Manager or Regional Construction Manager in the Pacific Northwest CMS group. Position will primarily work in a field setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. After initial 2-year assignment, must be available to travel for out-of-town projects when needed. Occasional work in the office may be required.
