Your Opportunity
The role of an Electrical EIT is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Electrical EIT will work under close supervision of a Senior Engineer to develop skills and experience in performing engineering design or power system simulation and analysis.
An Electrical EIT may also will assist in the modelling, simulation, and analysis of power systems for planning and feasibility study purposes. An Electrical EIT may also perform a variety of tasks which may include assisting with the plans and designs of transmission and distribution substations and HVDC converter stations as well as assisting with the preparation of preliminary design and technical specifications for HVDC converter stations and power cable installations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant electrical engineering elements including the study and design of power systems, substations and HVDC converter stations.
- Assists team in preparing drawings, reports and technical specifications. Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Successfully completed power system courses in undergraduate study.
- Understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of power system study and electrical design.
- Proficient in programming languages, such as python.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
- Self-starter able to work independently given appropriate guidance and direction.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field & EIT.
- Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
