Entry Level Landscape Designer
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- We are seeking a candidate with 0 to 5 years of educational or professional experience in landscape architecture, urban planning, brownfields planning, environmental planning, redevelopment, community engagement, public and/or private sector planning. A successful candidate should have the following skills:
- Exceptional conceptual design and graphic skills using hand and computer drawing and rendering techniques.
- Exceptional technical design skills in site and planning projects across a range of project scales from less than one acre to hundreds of acres in size. Skills required include site design layout and understanding of grading and stormwater principals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.), and SketchUp.
- Experience with Lumion or other 3-D visualization programs is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to facilitate community engagement events including project workshops, design charrettes, and presentations, both virtually and in person.
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
- Effective communicator and able to work on teams.
Education and Experience
· 0 to 5 years of experience in Landscape Architecture, Urban planning, or a related field.
· Successful candidates must have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree from an accredited landscape architecture or urban planning program.
· Current licensure as a Landscape Architect is beneficial but is not required. Eventual licensure will be required for continued advancement within the team.
· Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
You will work in a fun and creative office setting, much of the time with computers and/or drawing by hand. In-office work environment will be preferred with flexibility to work from home as needed. Travel may be required as project span the southeast. Project trips may include initial site visits, project kickoff meetings, community engagement, and presentations. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
