- Thorough understanding of technical environmental impact analysis methods and sound knowledge of NEPA requirements and related environmental regulations.
- Team oriented with strong capability to motivate others.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with planning projects and ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environment.
- Must demonstrate ability in collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, client, and teammates.
- Must be a highly motivated self-started.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience and established relationships in the Mining, Geothermal, and/or Transmission Sectors preferred.
- Ability to work independently and successfully lead development of NEPA documents through direct agency coordination and schedule management.
- Experience with the BLM and/or USFS NEPA processes and requirements preferred.
- A working knowledge of and experience with mapping software (ArcGIS) is a plus.
- Excellent ability to facilitate decision making and issue resolution processes is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, environmental planning, or related field, and at least 10 years of related experience. Master’s degree in planning or related environmental discipline is a bonus but not required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in environmental consulting and/or working for a federal/state environmental agency on environmental permitting projects relating to the NEPA. Experience with additional regulatory requirements a plus.
- Demonstrated experience and or familiarity with various environmental regulatory policy.
- Experience with task leadership.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with others.
