  • The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set in multiple environmental disciplines and a passion for lifelong learning.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct field work in potentially remote areas for extended periods including overnight travel is expected for this position. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master’s degree or in an environmental (biology, ecology, natural resources, soil science or related field) discipline with demonstrated experience with biological surveys in the region.
Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience delineating wetlands according to US Army Corps of Engineers Manual and the corresponding Regional Supplements.
Knowledge of Ohio Environmental Protection Agency field data forms (ORAM, QHEI, HHEI, etc).
Co-op / Internship experience preferred.
Demonstrated academic and professional experience with plant, soil, and wetland identification and characterization in the region.
Must be comfortable with computers and Trimble hand held GPS units or other similar GPS based survey equipment.
Technical writing skills are necessary for this position.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
