Environmental Technician

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• An interest in ecosystems, natural resource conservation, and the outdoors is essential.
  
• Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day in rough terrain.
  
• Effective communicator and team player.
  
• Organized and capable of following detailed instructions.
  
• Must have the willingness to learn new skills while conducting field work in rural wilderness settings.
  
• Applies logic and technical capabilities to resolve technical issues in an effective manner.
  
• Conscientious, organized, and disciplined.
  
• Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required), and demonstrates use and understanding of these policies and procedures as appropriate to their work.
  
• Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships within their technical team, Business Center, and region.
  
• The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set in multiple environmental disciplines and a passion for lifelong learning.
  
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.  Experience driving 4x4 vehicles, or off-road, preferred.
  

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in an environmental discipline preferred, but not required.
  
• Professional and academic background in biology or natural resources preferred, but not required.
  
• Ability to work in dependently.
  
• Previous experience utilizing iPads/iPhones and must be comfortable with computers, tablets, and GPS units.
  
• Ability to identify birds (including raptors) of Colorado is a plus. 
  

Field work will include walking long distances and may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs. is required. The successful candidate will be expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Sterling (Peetz), CO/Sidney, NE.
