Environmental Technician-Early Career, Midland, TX

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Knowledge of field sampling techniques, equipment maintenance or repair, or other activities through education or experience. Must have the willingness to learn new skills while conducting field work
• Knowledge of hazardous materials as emergency response, helpful
• GIS experience, a plus
• Experience or knowledge with operation and maintenance of various active remediation systems/technologies, a plus
• Candidate must be detail-oriented, have exceptional field note-taking skills, have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills (including MS Office), basic understanding of technical writing skills, combined with the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment
• Ability to work well in a team atmosphere and independently as required. This position works as part of a larger natural resources team and will likely require support to multiple Stantec offices.
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license required
• Willingness to travel frequently and conduct field work in potentially remote areas for extended periods including overnight travel is expected for this position. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items and equipment
• Where lawful and at Stantec’s discretion, your passing drug and alcohol testing

Education and Experience

• A BS or MS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related Earth Sciences, preferred
