Environmental/Wetland Scientist

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Background and experience in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, natural resource conservation and enhancement, wetland delineation, ecological community restoration and/or plant and animal identification skills.
• Local knowledge of plan identification to species.
• Ability to solve problems using critical thinking and to complete tasks with consideration to their own and the team’s safety is important.
• Experienced at working well in a team atmosphere and independently as required.
• Strong understanding of policies and procedures for Health, Safety, Security and Environment, including client-specific training (as required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional MS Office skills.
• Conscientious, organized, and disciplined.
• Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships within their technical team and Business Center.
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in an environmental discipline (botany, biology, ecology, natural resources, wildlife biology, or related field) with demonstrated experience with biological surveys in the Midwest region.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Technical writing skills are essential for this position.

Previous field experience in natural resource inventories, wetland delineations, and surveys preferred.

Familiarity and/or experience with Clean Water Act permitting is a bonus.
