Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Field Director in the Interior Plateau. Field Director status in other culture areas an asset.
- Permit holding status an asset.
- Experience identifying traditional use sites & features, CMTs, and lithic artifacts.
- Experience with lithic artifact analysis and cataloguing.
- Experience with mapping, pedestrian surveys, subsurface testing, excavation, data collection (field notes, photographs, digital information).
- Able to conduct field work away from home and stay in hotels or camps for periods of up to 2 weeks during the field season (May-Nov).
- Desire to work closely (in both leadership and supporting roles) with other environmental professionals and First Nations.
- Experience with driving on forestry roads and operating ATVs an asset.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cultural resource management, with 2 years as a Field Director.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs
