- Ability to work with limited oversight,
- Ability to pass a background security check
- Mechanically inclined
- Has existing basic set of tools (wrenches, screw drivers, socket set)
- Is willing to learn the science of groundwater sampling using and calibrating scientific equipment
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional MS Office skills.
- Strong note-taking skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of technical writing skills.
- Experienced at working well in a team atmosphere and independently as required.
- Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required).
- Must have the willingness to learn new skills while conducting field work
- Experience/knowledge of hazardous materials as emergency response are desirable.
- Conscientious, organized, and disciplined.
- Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships within their technical team and Business Center.
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license required
- Plumbing and electrical experience is a plus
- Ability to tow and back a trailer is a plus
- Working knowledge of field sampling techniques is a plus.
- Experience performing equipment maintenance as well as using and trouble-shooting electronic field instruments
- Able to consistently record clear, detailed field notes, and have very good to excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently to successfully complete fieldwork (sampling, equipment maintenance/repair, or other activities)
- After a minimum of 4 weeks of training, be able to independently identify equipment materials and supplies needed for sampling events or other routine fieldwork; able to order field equipment from vendors and suppliers at costs within a specified budget
- Interface in a positive manner with staff including senior engineers, geologists, and project managers
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
Education and Experience
- High School diploma, Associates Degree a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
