About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Fire Engineer to join our Sydney Buildings team. This is a full-time role that blends technical excellence with business development and client engagement.

This role will be based in Sydney, however will work closely with the Brisbane Fire team, with the support of the wider Fire team across Australia. This role will play a pivotal role in driving project success, expanding client relationships across a diverse portfolio of building projects. Your ability to lead from the front—both technically and commercially—will be key to your success.

What you’ll be doing:

•    Prepare drawings and calculations in support of design concepts and determine whether the performance solution complies with the relevant performance requirements of the Building Code of Australia
•    Deliver technically sound and innovative designs, reports, and specifications across sectors including data centres, healthcare, defence, high-rise, industrial, and education.
•    Preparation of Fire Engineering Brief (FEB) and/or Fire Engineering Brief Questionnaire (FEBQ), and develop solutions through to final Fire Engineering Report (FER)
•    Liaise with local authorities, clients and consultant team
•    Attend project meetings 
•    Identify and pursue new project opportunities and nurture long-term client partnerships
•    Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
•    Drive sustainable growth of the Fire Engineering Team

What We’re Looking For:

•    C10 accreditation 
•    Chartered Professional Engineer 
•    Technical expertise in fire safety design, analysis, and risk assessment
•    Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a track record of client engagement and project leadership
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery
•    A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building client relationships 
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills
•    A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
