Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficient in and consistently demonstrates and promotes policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (if applicable).
- Proven technical, communication, writing and organization skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Experience and availability for regular field work locally and in remote and challenging locations for up to 14 days at a time
- Must have electrofishing and first aid certificates
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
- Proficient in MS Office applications
The following would be an asset:
- Previous consulting experience
- Experience in freshwater systems in BC
- Additional terrestrial (e.g. vegetation, wildlife) field experience
- Knowledge of current provincial and federal government regulatory requirements
- Project management skills
- Experience conducting fish and fish habitat assessments, analyzing data, developing habitat compensation plans, and preparing technical reports
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related subject with two (2) years of experience as an aquatic biologist, or a technical diploma in biology or a related subject with three (3) years of experience as an aquatic biologist required
Master’s degree in biology or a related subject would be an asset
Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) accreditation or eligibility would be an asset
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
