Your Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental remediation/investigation tasks and providing site assessment, remedial investigation, and remedial action support for complex environmental remediation projects at sites with multi-media contamination that includes solvents, fuels, metals, PCBs.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Field data collection and analysis including:
- Logging soil and rock core for subsurface explorations, including installing monitoring wells and piezometers;
- Performing aquifer testing and groundwater flow evaluations;
- Soil, groundwater, surface water and air sampling for analytical analysis; and
- Environmental site assessments, including phase I ESAs, and environmental audits.
- Data compilation, and report generation to meet client and industry requirements.
- Working effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams of scientists, engineers, chemists, geologists, hydrogeologists, and field personnel to achieve project goals.
- Assisting and mentoring junior staff in technical and consulting excellence.
- Assuring the quality of all work and product deliverables and achievement of project objectives.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficient in policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training, leads by example, and applies these policies and procedures as appropriate to their work.
- Solid skills in technical writing.
- Observing and developing skills in communications and technical. information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as non-technical communication to the public.
- Able to build strong relationships with key clients with respect to their technical area and the broader business objectives in their regions
- Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships.
- Drives collaborative efforts within the Business Center and beyond to deliver consistent, high quality and appropriately scoped technical work.
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with GIS, AutoCad and EQuIS is preferred.
- 40 hr HAZWOPER (OSHA Hazardous Worker) certification is preferred.
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and physical is required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Passing score on Fundamentals of Geology (or equivalent exam) preferred.
- 0-3 years of experience.
- Combination of office and field work. Must be able to work outside under adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to climb a ladder is required.
