About the role:
Stantec’s Transport team in New Zealand is proud to deliver accessible and reliable transport options that get people and freight from A to B. Our 220-strong team is proud to work with councils, private sector clients and asset owners with national and international reach. We advise and design across state highways, local roads, rail, ports and more, generating value through smart ideas, pragmatism, resilience, safety and efficient asset management. We’re focused on futureproofing our infrastructure and creating affordable and sustainable transport choices for our clients and communities.
About the role:

A typical week could see you planning and undertaking site investigations, carrying out geotechnical assessments, designing retaining walls, foundations, slope stabilisation measures, ground improvements or pile design, delivering detailed technical engineering reports and managing the construction of these structures. You'll provide advice to clients and provide input to successful project solutions.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Determining internal and external client requirements
Conducting and manage field data acquisition, site investigations and testing
Producing calculations, reporting, specifications and drawings to ensure that geotechnical designs provide appropriate solutions
Plan, programme, co-ordinate and write reports for specific projects.
Providing quality check and review experience to an appropriate technical standard
Develop and maintain constructive relationships with local contractors, and team members.
Act in the role of Engineer’s Representative or Engineer’s Representative Assistant, with support from experienced members of the team as required
