Stantec are seeking talented Acoustics Engineering Graduates to join our Buildings team in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. The Sydney role is for a 2026 start. Brisbane and Perth roles are for a 2027 start.

What will you be doing day to day?



Acoustic Engineers research, measure, analyze and design acoustical solutions within architectural, industrial, and environmental projects. Some key responsibilities:

  • Apply acoustic principles through research and analysis to support design of projects; acoustic design items include interior and exterior noise isolation, building services noise and vibration control, reverberation control, environmental noise impact assessments, etc.

  • Perform calculations to analyze and design acoustical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

  • Assist team in preparing acoustical designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.

  • Perform field work related to acoustical activities as required, including using sound and vibration measuring equipment.

  • Acoustic modelling using software such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA & EASE.

  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary design teams including building services, structure, transport and architecture.

  • Assist Senior and Project Engineers in completing projects in terms of program, profitability, technical risk management and overall client satisfaction.

  • Receive support to develop the critical consulting skills needed for excellence in client service.

  • Use Stantec’s proprietary Auralisation tool to create aural renderings of what spaces can sound like before they are built.

  • Meet with local product suppliers to keep up to date with the latest acoustic rated products on the market.

  • Continuing Professional Development with Engineers Australia, the Australian Acoustical Society, or similar.

About You

 

  • Engineering or Science Degree, specialisation in acoustics, noise and vibration will be favourably considered. 

  • Passion for learning and problem solving.

  • Australian Citizen, PR or NZ Citizen.

  • Currently in final year of degree or 1-2 years post-graduation
