What you’ll do?
As a Graduate Civil Engineer based in Auckland, you will be working out of our brand-new Auckland office located in Newmarket right next to the Auckland Domain. You will sit within our Transportation team and work on a wide variety of diverse projects for both public and private sector clients, often within multi-disciplinary teams.
Our transportation team are a team of specialists with expertise covering the whole lifecycle of a transport project, from advisory and planning, site investigations, design through to construction monitoring. We are involved in diverse projects both locally within Auckland, and nationally across the other large NZ cities and within the regions.
We provide technical expertise and ensure that project outcomes in terms of profit, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and Stantec expectations. We provide the opportunity of development in multiple work streams and the excitement of working on large infrastructure projects.
Day to day tasks could include:
- Providing input into infrastructure business cases including strategic analysis and infrastructure economics.
- Understanding traffic engineering multimodal movements and implementing approaches to design for all users.
- Developing an understanding of geometric design and use of software such as AutoCAD, 12D, and Open Roads.
- Undertaking site investigations including geotechnical investigations, site monitoring and construction management
Some key projects that our team have worked on:
- Albany Highway Walking and Cycling Improvements Business Case, including optioneering, concept design, traffic modelling and business case writing.
- Traffic modelling for Auckland International Airport.
- Integrated Transport Assessments for large-scale Private Plan Changes such as Drury East and Beachlands.
- Waiheke Island Cycleway scheme, concept, and detailed design.
- Level crossing safety assessments for KiwiRail.
- Cyclone Gabrielle emergency response and recovery works for local roads for Gisborne District Council, Hastings District Council and Central Hawkes Bay District Council.
Your Role:
- Work across the entire project lifecycle, from concept to design and construction monitoring (onsite).
- Gain exposure to project management and client management.
- Join a large, nurturing, and diverse team that works on local, national and international projects.
- Collaborate with and learn from national and international industry experts.
