What do our Graduate Hydraulic Modellers do?
As our Graduate Hydraulic Modeller, you will collaborate with a diverse team to develop hydraulic models and conduct network analysis tasks for a variety of clients, including local government authorities and private developments.
This role will ensure that you build and develop your professional profile both internally and externally by consistently demonstrating the ability to successfully deliver projects.
You will/Day to day tasks include:
- Undertake hydraulic model build and calibration, and calibration of wastewater, stormwater, and water supply models
- Master planning, network analysis and operational optimization.
- Assisting with GIS analysis related to hydraulic modelling.
- Contribute to project report preparations.
- Attend meetings/workshops for project presentations assisting seniors in the team.
- Build, develop and maintain strong and trusting working relationships with your colleagues both locally and internationally.
Auckland team is currently working with Watercare, Auckland Council on variety of interesting projects. Team also supports other teams nationally as well internationally.

What you will bring
You will be completing studies in either civil engineering, environmental science, geography, data science, or science. We are looking for someone who has the ability to use initiative and think outside the box.
A positive, can-do attitude is a must for this role! You will also have good communication skills helping to convey your ideas verbally in presentations as well as in written format such as reports.
You will have a strong interest in water, and as we are to improving the world we live in, seizing the environmental challenges that we all face and coming up with solutions that will benefit generations to come.
To be eligible to apply you must:
- Be a recent graduate or due to complete your tertiary education in 2025
- Preferably have a full clean current driving licence
- Working Rights in New Zealand (Student Visa holder, convertible to post study open work visa, Permanent Resident OR Citizen)
