What you’ll do?

As a Graduate Modeller/CAD Designer, you will collaborate with a diverse team to develop gravity and pressure pipe models, earthworks and surface 3D models and detailing civil drawings for a variety of clients, including local government authorities and private developments. 

This role will ensure that you build and develop your professional profile both internally and externally by consistently demonstrating the ability to successfully deliver projects.

You will/Day to day tasks include: 

  • Undertake building of gravity and pressure pipe models for water infrastructure.
  • Undertake design of surface models for wide range of water infrastructure.
  • Undertake creation and production of 2D drawings from concept to construction.
  • Working in an interdisciplinary environment, coordinating and collaborating with designers and engineers.
  • Contribute to project report preparations.
  • Attend meetings/workshops for project presentations assisting seniors in the team.
  • Build, develop and maintain strong and trusting working relationships with your colleagues both locally and internationally.

Our Christchurch team is currently working with Watercare, Christchurch City Council on variety of interesting projects. Team also supports other teams nationally as well internationally.

Your Role:

  • Work across the entire project lifecycle, from concept to design and construction monitoring (onsite).
  • Gain exposure to project management and client management.
  • Join a large, nurturing, and diverse team that works on local, national and international projects. 
  • Collaborate with and learn from national and international industry experts.

What You Bring:

  • Recent graduate with a qualification in civil engineering, environmental science, geography, data or other science or equivalent diploma.
  • Ability to use your initiative and think outside the box
  • A positive can-do attitude, with good written and oral skills
  • Motivated, pragmatic, and eager to learn across various disciplines
  • Strong interest in water engineering
  • Demonstrated personal leadership qualities and thrive in challenging environments

Eligibility

  • Be a recent graduate or due to finish studies by December 2026

  • Preferably have a full clean current driving licence

  • Working Rights: Student Visa, Permanent Resident, Citizen
