What do our Graduate Process Engineers do?

As a Graduate Process Engineer at Stantec, you'll work on a variety of exciting projects in the wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater fields. You will join a team that manages infrastructure projects locally and internationally. Projects range from renewing a wastewater main in a suburban street to building a new 250 l/s water treatment plant and storage reservoir to working on a 4000L/s critical wastewater pump station.

You will be based in a central office with easy access to Dunedin's vibrant community. Enjoy an active lifestyle with hiking, surfing, a world-class stadium, wildlife, boutique breweries, bustling cafés, and mountain biking right on your doorstep. You won’t have to travel far to have adventures after work!

Your Role:

  • Assist and prepare process design documents including technical notes, design calculations, reports, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects and feasibility studies.
  • Work across the entire project lifecycle, from concept to design and construction monitoring (onsite).
  • Gain exposure to project and client management.
  • Join a large, nurturing, and diverse team that works on local, national, and international projects. 
  • Collaborate with and learn from national and international industry experts.

What you will bring

  • Recent graduate with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (hon), or related field.
  • Professional, motivated, pragmatic, and eager to learn across various disciplines.
  • Strong interest in water and wastewater engineering.
  • Demonstrated personal leadership qualities and can thrive in challenging environments.

Eligibility:

  • Recent graduate or due to complete your tertiary education in 2025.
  • Preferably hold a valid restricted or full Driving License.
  • Working Rights in New Zealand (Student Visa holder, convertible to post-study open work visa, Permanent Resident, or Citizen).
