Hydrogeology Practice Lead

Experience in or knowledge of the following is required:

• Groundwater management and integrated regional water management planning
• State and/or local groundwater policy development
• Groundwater recharge investigations (e.g., groundwater banking and ASR)
• Water transfers and exchanges
• Subsurface investigation processes including drilling and soil classification
• Well design, installation, and testing
• Groundwater and soil sampling techniques and procedures
• Groundwater monitoring and data collection techniques and procedures
• In-depth knowledge of California water policies and programs (e.g., Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, CASGEM, AB303, and other groundwater management initiatives)
• In-depth understanding of Central Valley groundwater conditions and issues, and strong client relationships and experience with local/regional water management agencies
• Familiarity with geological software (e.g., Surfer, gINT, RockWorks16) and groundwater modeling platforms (e.g., MODFLOW and IWFM) and applications in the Central Valley
• Familiarity with State funding programs and grant opportunities
• Proven track record developing client relationships
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and experience presenting technical information to broad audiences
• Strong interpersonal abilities working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders
• Experience managing teams of 10 or more specialists on large-scale projects and programs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Geotechnical Engineering
• Master’s Degree Preferred
• Licensed Geologist and Hydrogeologist in California
• 10+ years' experience

• Ability to travel 50% of the time.
