Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Be eligible for registration in Canada with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists in the province where the candidate would work as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or in the United States in the State where the candidate would work as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is a plus
- Willingness to provide guidance and leadership for Associate Designers assigned to work on common projects
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of I&C design standards with control systems (DCS and PLC based architectures)
- Sound working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code or US National Electrical Codes is considered an asset
- Must demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
- Knowledge of standard desktop software is required including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; Adobe pdf tools
- CAD experience – AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation – is preferred. Programming experience (Microprocessor, C++, SQL structures, etc.) is desirable
- Field review and commissioning experience is considered an asset
- Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from Senior Engineers / Designers
- The willingness to travel for field reviews and construction support is an asset
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer. Minimum of 2 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
