Your Capabilities and Credentials 

  • Have experience in heavy industrial design such as oil & gas, mining, power, and pulp & paper.
  • Have strong aptitudes for troubleshooting
  • Comfortable interacting with clients and contractors in a field setting.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Have an aptitude for programming in PLC languages.
  • Have aptitude for networking systems and industrial protocols eg. Routing, Bacnet, Modbus, etc.
  • Utilize engineering and design communication protocols such as HART, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus, Modbus TCP, Ethernet TCP/IP for establishing communications between instruments, control equipment, electrical and supervisory systems.
  • Prepare specifications for supervisory and control systems such as programmable logical controller (PLC), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), distributed control system (DCS), emergency shut-down system (ESS), fire & gas systems, and rotating equipment protection.

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 5 - 10 years' experience in job offered. 
  • Eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Nova Scotia.
