Your Opportunity
The primary role of the Intern Architect is to interpret and translate the needs and desires of our clients, with direction from our multi-disciplinary teams, into cohesive design solutions. This process will involve production of drawings (2d/3D), and written material to support the conceptual direction of the project. This individual will often be required to present their ideas in formal and informal settings with a willingness and desire to hear and respond to constructive feedback. An individual at this level in their career is expected to perform their role within the standard of care acceptable to their peers in the industry. An intern architect is expected to work collaboratively with the architectural team's conceptualizing, developing and documenting varying aspects of the design of a project, including but not limited to site and space planning, developing elevations, sections, and architectural details, and product research.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Conducts basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material.
- Supports project team in development of design documentation.
- Assists in the development of a design through sketches, physical and digital models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
- Utilizes BIM technologies in development of a 3D models of buildings and their components.
- Assist in research of concept, benchmark, materials, typology, and precedents.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficiency with Revit and the use of it as a design tool.
- Experience with the design software such as (Sketchup, Enscape, sketch-up, Rhino, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
- Experience with design equipment (3D printer, laser cutter, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
- Participate and collaborate in project team setting.
- Engage in creative and critical thought.
- Interpret sketches, drawings, buildings program and other similar material.
- Communicate abstract ideas (verbal/Written).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field. Minimum of 0-3 years of experience. Internship experience preferred.
CANADA: Registration within Provincial/Territorial Association of Architects as an Intern Architect is preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
