Junior Urban Planner
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Membership/eligibility, with the Canadian Institute of Planners or Alberta Professional Planners Institute.
- Knowledge and experience in community development and urban design leading practices.
- Experience in subdivision design and innovative planning approaches would be an asset.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills, organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills and experience of planning theory, practice and procedures.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to function in a high volume, challenging environment.
- Creative problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and other programs such as InDesign are an asset.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Urban Planning; Master's degree in Planning is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position will primarily work in a hybrid office environment. Some travel may be required, such as attending meetings or engagement events. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
