Your Capabilities and Credentials
- In depth understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals such as psychrometric chart, refrigeration cycle, heat transfer, and pressure drop in air and hydronic distribution systems.
- Ability to explain mechanical engineering concepts in simple terms to engineers, operators, contractors, and individuals without mechanical engineering background.
- Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems; means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.
- Experience in using HVAC load calculation software – HAP or Trace 3D
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience in equipment selection by communicating with vendors, and also, using catalogs and selection software programs.
Preferred Qualifications - External
- Experience in designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, storm mitigation facilities, and hydroelectric power stations.
- Familiarity with NFPA 820 requirements for HVAC systems in classified spaces.
- Strong presentation and interview skills.
- Experience in developing project’s required level of effort or budgets.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. (Master’s degree is preferred)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and ability to obtain in multiple states
- Minimum of 7 years of experience
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
