Palaeontologist

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Recent graduate degree in palaeontology, geology, or related field; OR a graduate degree in progress
• Strong adherence to health and safety policies and procedures
• Skilled in communications
• Flexible and thrives in a dynamic work environment
• Ability to follow verbal directions
• Ability to use field data collection equipment such as GPS and camera
• At least six weeks of palaeontological field experience preferred
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license required

Education and Experience

MSc or PhD in geology, palaeontology, or related field; OR degree in progress. We may consider a candidate with a bachelor’s degree; however, a graduate degree is required to hold a palaeontological permit and attain the Senior Palaeontologist position.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in palaeontology preferred.

Combination of office and field experience.

Working towards qualifications to hold a paleontological permit in Alberta and other jurisdictions.

Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
