Principal, Electrical Engineering

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Ability to lead a team of people, including management of staffing/work balance and oversight of technical deliverables.
• Deep buildings electrical design knowledge, including but not limited to electrical, lighting, and fire/life safety systems, device layouts, circuiting, panel schedules and load calcs, riser diagrams, and schedules.
• Ability to independently prepare and review detailed drawings.
• Ability to integrate design elements with architectural, civil, structural, ICT, mechanical and other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
• Strong knowledge applicable codes and standards.
• Knowledge of specialty engineering applications such as SKM Power Tools.
• Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
• Ability to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledge.
• Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively support technical project consultation with key clients and project stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software; in particular, AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field plus 15 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills.  Professional Engineering license.  LEED AP credential and familiarity with various construction delivery process, such as Design assist and Design-Build are a plus.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
