Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to successfully work within and lead teams as well as professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage scopes, schedules, and budgets for multidiscipline planning/design projects.
  • Strong business development, proposal writing and client champion skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly write technical reports.
  • Demonstrated capability to execute assigned tasks and clearly communicate with a multi-discipline team of engineers, planners, scientists, and GIS specialists to develop permits, design documents, and specifications. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design, lead, and implement geomorphic studies. 
  • Knowledge of environmental planning and regulations, fluvial geomorphology, and fish biology in Northern California.

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 20 years progressive experience in geomorphology, watershed science, civil engineering, water resources, environmental engineering or other related field. Must have strong scientific background with experience applying analytical and quantitative skills for fluvial process understanding.
  • Strong technical background, including designing, implementing, and managing geomorphic field assessments; stream and river hydrologic, hydraulic, and sediment transport analyses and modeling; watershed studies; flood hazard mapping; channel stability analyses; channel flow design; and stream and river restoration designs. 
  • Experience with habitat feature and stream bed gravel design.
  • Experience with hydroelectric relicensing and compliance geomorphology and hydrology studies and technical reports.
  • Experience supporting water resources engineers and biologists in designing stream restoration/enhancement projects, fish passage, flood plain management, and other related projects.
